Lesson 1

hello!

my first post ever in mylearningjournalat19!
i am so glad i created this blog and i hope i can continue to post what i learn everyday in here! let's keep the learning going!

So what did i learn today?

1. About Old School and Sinema.sg
  • Old School is a place showcasing local films and it looks inspiring to me...Sinema.sg is..i dont know what but they are a collaboration with old school! haha! my colleague is an investor of sinema and him and another colleague introduced the websites to me.
  • i was surfing both websites and read up on information about cameras and editing softwares, etc. will try and surf more to find out where i can get them cheap!haha! and sinema.sg is also recruiting! after this admin work is done, i shall go try working at sinema! :)HEE:)

2. Oil Tanking
  • Ullage - height measurement of the empty space in an oil tank
  • Innage - height measurement of the used up space in an oil tank (opposite of ullage)
  • They measure the depth of the tank by inserting a measuring tape with a type of paper that changes to BRIGHT RED when it comes into contact with oil, so they know how much oil there is.
  • Oil expands when the temperature is warm, they do not really evaporate in warm temperature like you think it would, because they try to make the tank a vaccuum and it doesnt evaporate as much.
  • ITT means inter-tank transfer, which means transferring oil from one tank to another tank. usually it's a vessel to tank transfer.
  • Demurrage fees are fees you pay to make the vessel wait at the port.

3. IPOD Wonders

  • I learnt that i had to press the middle button while the song is playing to get to the lyrics (and other options), which i would have to add in myself on desktop.
hmmm, i think that's it for today.
there must be some other things which i would have forgotten! i should write them down next time!

ok, bye!

Loves,
Chelsea
